I was the only biker for now in the hotel. The season has not started yet…
I had breakfast with the staff and we talked about just everything. After that I packed my gear and dressed up to head home.
Today was not very interesting in terms of travel. I’ve been to Murau a couple of times now. Most of the times I would take the smaller roads as there are some pleasant rides on the way home but now I just wanted to get home to my family as I haven’t seen them in a long time.
I rode on the national roads to Judenburg and then took the S36 before taking some small roads again to the Hungarian border where I arrived at 12.30. As my mates were heading for a long week-end to Austria we met at a restaurant in Kophaza and had lunch together. They were interested in my trip and I still envied them a bit for the 3 day biking trip that lay ahead of them.
I still had to do a bit of riding on the smaller roads in Hungary. And boy you really notice that you crossed the border: roads are much worse and drivers are aggressive. If they see you they just wouldn’t pull over.
I didn’t stop until I was home. I headed for the M1 motorway and rode all the way home. I arrived back from where I left 22 days earlier. It was 4.00 pm.
Nothing can describe the feeling when your kids run towards you with a genuine happiness and love.
The trip was really worthwhile. I had many interesting encounters and saw beautiful things. And I enjoyed the most the feeling of freedom when you wake up in the morning and you just decide on what to do or where to go with no commitments whatsoever.
In 22 days I rode a total of 9217 km through 10 countries (including independent states)…

Daily data
